On Saturday, February 6, 2016, an M6.4 earthquake struck southern Taiwan, 24km (15mi) SSE of Yujing, Taiwan. Over 100 people have been killed in major building collapses. The EERI community extends its sympathy to the victims as rescue and relief work still continues.
EERI is responding as part of its Learning from Earthquakes Program (LFE) by launching this virtual clearinghouse site and contacting many EERI members and colleagues in Taiwan for information and observations.
EERI is currently seeking members and volunteers who can contribute by providing information regarding field investigations, media updates, relief efforts and relevant technical literature. Learn more about how you can contribute.
