The following are updates on road and bridge operations as of May 4th, 2016.

The Chillanes-Bucay road in Bolívar remains closed. The Santo Domingo–La Concordia–Puerto Nuevo–Pedernales road still has limited access between 12:00 and 17:00. In Cotopaxi province, the road to Guangomalag is partially accessible, as are roads north, south, and west of the capital Cotopaxi. As of 4th of May, there are still landslide warnings in Zamora Chinchipe province.

Heavy rainfall due to El Niño has already affected infrastructure since January 2016. At least five roads were partially inaccessible due to flooding in Esmeraldas, including the Esmeraldas–Muisne road, at the epicentre of the quake. Five roads in Santo Domingo, Guayas, and Manabí were already difficult to access (Etapa Invernal 14/04/2016)
