Ground motion records Mw 5.8 Pawnee, OK

The main shock of the September 3rd earthquake occurred at 12:02:44 UTC (07:02:44 -05:00 at epicenter) about 15 km to the northwest of Pawnee (36.425°N 96.929°W) at a depth of 5.56 km. The Center for Engineering Strong Motion Data (CESMD) made available on their website records from 10 stations in Oklahoma. The closest free-field station was located 42.8 km from the epicenter and recorded a maximum horizontal acceleration of 0.066 g. The highest acceleration (from the available records) was recorded in the USGS OK091 Station (about 52 km from the epicenter) and it was 0.081 g, the spectral acceleration (Sa) presents the higher peaks at very short periods of 0.12 – 0.15 s. Both records are shown below.
