How to Contribute Your Photos and Notes to the virtual clearinghouse:

EERI currently promotes the use of the following tools to submit data to the virtual clearinghouse. Click on the name of each tool for detailed instructions on how to use that tool.If you have questions about these tools, or the recommended tools do not provide an appropriate mechanism to share your data, please contact Heidi Tremayne at heidi@eeri.org

EERI is happy to partner any person who has field data with an EERI intern or volunteer who can provide support and assistance for data processing and upload using these tools. Contact Heidi at heidi@eeri.org if you have data and need help to upload it.

EERI Batch Photo Upload Tool

The EERI Photo Upload Tool is a java-based tool that allows you to upload geotagged photos to the virtual clearinghouse in a single batch from your computer. To use this tool, photos must be geotagged, or latitude/longitude locations must be known. Additionally, uploading large numbers of photos requires a strong internet connection to ensure a successful upload.

  • Download the EERI Batch Photo Upload Tool: http://www.eqclearinghouse.org/map/EERIFieldDataCollectionTool.zip
  • Watch the following video to get a comprehensive overview of how to use the Batch Photo Upload Tool or review the instructions pdf.
  • Optional: If you want to embed attribution meta data (i.e. photographer name, date, time etc.) to your photos before uploading them using the batch photo upload tool, you should first process them in the Geosetter tool. See Instructions

Clearinghouse Fieldnotes

Clearinghouse Fieldnotes is a web-based mobile data collection tool. This tool can be used to submit point data that contains a photo and some form data using your mobile device in the field. At this time, using Clearinghouse Fieldnotes requires an internet cellular data connection.

Geosetter Tool

The Geosetter tool can be used to embed photo attribution meta data (such as photographer name, date, time etc) in the photos. Download Geosetter Tool.
