    Hi, All.

There is a flight planned for the north coast for Tsunami Awareness week in March. What we need you to do is provide an email describing the purpose, plan and contact information for this exercise. This does not need to be as detailed as a NEHRP proposal, but is necessary to document this is a legitimate exercise and not merely a ”joy ride”. Our DHS/C&BP contact is in Sacramento, but they have a wide-range of air assets available, as well as some remote sensing equipment and they have offered to train Clearinghouse personel to use these in-flight resources. Therefore, in addition to the email descirbing the information requested above, please provide a list of personnel who should be passengers on the flight. Note, the actual number of participants in this exercise will be determined by the aircraft available; however, we hope to make these training overflights a regular event to allow as many as possible to participate. In order to make this flight happen it would be better to have the requested information sooner rather than later so there is enough time to work out the details.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if there’s anything I can do to help get the ball rolling.

    Thanks.

    Anne

ThumbnailIt’s been a very busy three days (and nights).  The tsunami is still ringing in Crescent Harbor – amplitudes are about 20% of the peak and below hazard levels but still too high to safely work in the harbor or send in divers to assess the situation beneath the water.  There is a diesel spill and [...]
